4000° Kelvin

It's been a while since my last blog entry, though not out of indolence; I've been busy working on finishing my Final Major Project in time for the deadline and planning towards the two exhibitions I and my Northbrook cohorts have coming up.

One will be at the college (in Worthing). Above are a few of the posters to give you a taste for what's coming up. I'll likely post pictures from it on here once it's all over.

The other will be as graduates at New Designers in London. Most graduates have put up previews of their work, including us Northbrook lot, which you can find here: ArtsThread.

I haven't had much time for personal artwork considering all that's been going on, but I do have a little sketchdump to share today - all from about February onwards.

And please don't comment on the Garrus one, I already know what a hopeless fangirl I am.

I've also volunteered and been accepted to work on an exciting new graphic novel project in Brighton, but I'll save that for my next post, since it's boiling and late and I am le tired.

m'ensorcelle

Here's the pencil sketch for a piece I did for a uni project on bizarre phenomena. It's the first of a fair few pieces that I (somehow) have to get done by Thursday, so I'll probably post anything else to do with those projects in the next few weeks.

I got back from Paris on Wednesday. It was even more beautiful than I thought it would be. I got to see pretty much everything I'd want to see there - Notre Dame, la Tour Eiffel, the Moulin Rouge, Sacre-Coeur, the catacombs, the Louvre, the Seine, and as many places from Amelie as possible. Can't wait to go again ^_^

Borrowed Time

Finally got this blog layout finished (still some things I'm not happy with about it but at least I won't be compulsively changing it every 5 minutes). Anyway, here are some double pages I did for a poetry project for uni. Now then, I'm off to get ready for Paris :D

It's WonkaVision

Here's the first of 10 drawings I'm recreating for a uni project. I wish I could've picked some drawings I'd done from when I was maybe 3-5, but a lot of them got lost when we moved country.

The earliest 2 I found are from 1998 and are Harry Potter related. This one's from when I was 11 - I thought it was worth comparing just the sketch here, but the full colour piece is here on my deviantArt page.

It's getting to the end of my time at uni, so naturally it's the big final push for work. Once I hand in this project I'm going to be starting my Final Major Project, I have a semi-dissertation to be working on (since it's only a 2 year course it's not as long), and the three end of year exhibitions, one of which is held at New Designers. While it's exciting, I'm rather looking forward to having a moment where I have no artwork due for anything. At all. Whatsoever.

On a side note, I got to see the logos I designed for the Northumbria Real Ale Society embroidered on hoodies. Rather surreal, but so satisfying <3

Ruined

Only one thing to upload today - my most recent uni project was to create a CD design for a band/artist of my choice (the CD title etc. can be fictional). I chose Bitter Ruin, an unsigned and incredible duo who I've been a big fan of for a little over a year.

So here's my design. I couldn't take it in better light, unfortunately, since I was just about to hand it in when it occurred to me.

The cover image can be seen more clearly here on my dA page.
